Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. She later worked as morning news anchor and crime reporter for WCBD-TV. Her articles from Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with leniency led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The investigation resulted a stricter directive for state authorities. The Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell the Best Report of the year award for every aspect of South Carolina media. O'Dell then worked for NBC's Miami-based station WTVJ-TV as a investigative reporter and anchor, prior to her joining Access Hollywood in the role of co-anchor for the weekend. O'Dell is a leading anchor at Access Hollywood. In addition, she contributes to NBC News Today and Dateline NBC. She co-hosted several of pre-show arrivals to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She also hosted Miss USA's pageant, as in addition to the Miss Universe Pageant.
